Competition/Exhibition Information To secure your band’s spot, return the entry form along with your $50 entry fee (made checks payable to the Alcoa Band Boosters). For an additional $15 you may purchase a DVD of your performance. Entry forms must be postmarked no later than September 25. Performance times will be based on the earliest postmark. A director’s information packet will be sent to the band director at least one week prior to the competition. Entry forms received postmarked by September 15, will receive a free DVD of your performance.
Amenities East Tennessee’s best concessions will be available, including hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, tornados (like a Petro, only better), bar-b-que and caramel apples. A fully stocked directors’ hospitality room is available.
Judging A panel of three judges will evaluate each band’s music, marching, maneuvering, and general effect. In addition, Percussion, Drum Major, and Auxiliary Corps will be adjudicated. Adjudication is the same regardless of expedition or exhibition status. Each band must enter, set up, and exit the field within fifteen minutes.
Classifications Classification will be determined by the number of playing members (winds and percussion).
Any band may choose to enter a larger class, but not a smaller one.

A GRAND CHAMPION AWARD will be presented to the highest scoring band of the day, regardless of class.
** Bands marching in exhibition only cannot compete in the Drum Major, Percussion, Auxiliary and Majorette categories. |
